MEET THE DIRECTOR
Mark Forbes is Scottish filmmaker from Aberdeenshire. Mark has been making films for twenty seven years.
In 2018, Mark wrote, directed, produced, edited, co-filmed and co-financed his first indie feature drama, Mother & Wild which was released in 2022 while premiering at the Hastings Rocks International Film Festival. In 2023, his second feature film, a documentary Tristan v Christan premiered at the Swedish International Film Festival.
In 2023 Mark had five of his award-winning short films and documentaries screened at 90 film festivals worldwide. In July 2025 Mark’s 3rd feature film, the documentary, Quiet on Set: The Class Division in the Film Industry? had its world premiere at the 37th Galway Film Fleadh on the 13th July 2025, while screening at the West Lothian film festival and the Bournemouth International Film Festival and the London Breeze Film Festival and has been submitted to the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) in 2025. Mark is filming his fourth feature documentary and developing his fifth and six feature films.
