Local film-maker Ben Barton will explain how serendipity blessed his short film ‘Stella Erratica’ and David Bowie got involved.
The talk will be followed by the screening of ‘Stella Erratica’.
Ben Barton is a filmmaker, poet and professional writer based in Folkestone, Kent.
He publishes my poems in little books and magazines, and shows his hand-crafted movies at film festivals, screening nights and at galleries, universities and cinemas around the UK and Europe.
In total his films have been ‘Official Selections’ at over 15 international film festivals, featured at 50+ film nights, and also broadcast on Sky and BBC television.
In 2017, he attended and premiered his latest film Stella Erratica at the Cannes Film Festival.
Published since he was a teenager, his poems have appeared in several small-press magazines and chapbooks, as well as three full collections of his work.
Ben also work as an advertising, food and travel writer, specialising in cruise holidays and the marine industry.
In 2008 he founded Roundeye, a small company which produces and distributes films.
